Megan Benoit, MSN, FNP-C, APRN, RNFA

Heather works with Dr. Cook in clinic and the OR. She started her career in orthopedics and worked in the OR setting for 18 years before returning to orthopedics and orthopedic trauma.

“We’re here for someone when they’re in the worst shape. They may have broken an arm or a hip, torn a rotator cuff or worn out a knee. They’re not here because they want to be here. They’re here because they want to get better and they know this is a great place to do that. Being part of that is rewarding to me.

“I’m there for patients every step of the way, educating them not just about their bone health but their general health. Some are afraid of surgery, and I prepare them and help them move and work through it. My job is more than just nursing, although that’s very important. I’m a motivational speaker, I help them get on the computer to watch videos about their condition, and work beside them in the PT gym if it will help them get better. I coordinate home health, rehab and transportation.

“I’m able to give Dr. Cook more time to do what he does best and our patients get the best of both of us.” Heather received her MSN and ARNP from South University and her BSN from Aspen University.

When not with patients, Heather enjoys cruising, scuba diving, spending time at the beach and spending time with family.
